Meet Our Staff
Alan L. Gordon
Alan L. Gordon, CPA was born in Washington, DC and raised in District Heights, Maryland. He attended Suitland High School and is a graduate of Frostburg State University, both located in Maryland. Alan became a Certified Public Accountant in 1979. Beginning in 1978, Alan worked with some small and medium sized accounting firms in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and in Waterloo, Iowa. He founded Alan L. Gordon, CPA, P. A. in Rockville, Maryland in 1995.
Alan is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA), the Maryland
Association of CPA’s (MACPA), the Greater Washington Society of CPA’s (GWSCPA),
and the Association of Practicing CPA’s (APCPA). He has been a guest of
financial planner Ric Edelman on “The Ric Edelman Show” on WMAL-AM 630
to discuss income tax matters.
Having served as the financial officer of religious and charitable organizations as well as being a past president of the Frostburg State University Alumni Association, Alan is presently the treasurer of Our House, a not for profit vocational training center for teens at risk.
Alan presently resides in Olney, Maryland with his wife and children.

Our Associates
Richard Fisher joined our firm in March of 2004 after working many years in small business management. His primary focus is on tax matters, client services and research. A graduate of the Catholic University School of Law, Mr. Fisher was formerly in private law practice in Rockville, Maryland.
Michael J. Elliano, CPA joined the firm in February of 2005. He is a member of the MACPA. Michael was born in Bridgeport, Ct. and moved to Maryland to attend the University of Maryland after a tour in the U.S. Air Force. After graduating in 1987 with a degree in Finance, Michael worked with SunAmerica Securities for eight years. He returned to the University of Maryland to acquire his degree in Accounting. After passing the CPA exam, he worked with the tax department of Deloitte and Touche, LLP. Michael’s experience includes small business management, sales, financial management, and accounting. His primary focus at our firm is in tax preparation and small business accounting.
Ashley Proctor joined the firm in August 2009 as a senior accountant. A 1999 honors graduate of Barton College in Accounting and Sports Management, he was formerly a senior tax accountant for a public accounting firm in Tyson’s Corner and subsequently with a regional CPA firm in the Southeast. Most recently Ashley taught middle school math and English in rural Eastern North Carolina. Ashley is presently studying for the CPA exam while simultaneously juggling the joys and responsibilities of fatherhood to a delightful son Nicholas and marriage to his lovely wife Ellen.
